Without going into
gun violence statistics,
conspiracies, or
what ___ famous person said about guns in other countries, I am proposing a comprehensive approach to a seemingly irrational debate. You will find that when you peel off all the outer layers, at the very
core of the issue lies the psychology of gun control and once you peel off that layer, you will most definitely find FEAR.
There are 2 separate train of thoughts and one of them is completely illogical and I shall start with that one:
- "GUNS KILL PEOPLE".
To put it simply: No they don't. Now, a common rebuttal to "guns kill people" from pro-gun advocates is the analogy that if such a statement were true, then cars are to blame for automotive accidents rather than drivers. This argument is full of holes because the anti-gun response is simply that firearms cannot transport us to and from work, which is very true, that part of the debate is irrelevant. However, I am not inclined to entertain either side of such a ridiculous argument. The point that we're all missing, is that inanimate objects such as cars and guns do not operate themselves.
